The Arbor Row redevelopment plan will replace aging, suburban office buildings and surface parking lots with a new 20-acre mixed-use and transit-oriented development along Westpark Drive in Tysons Corner. Design Collective was selected by Home Properties to design “Block A2” a combination mixed-use high-rise tower and 5-story podium with 427 residential units, over 8,000 square feet of retail, structured below grade parking, elevated amenity courtyard with pool deck and a roof-top lounge with outdoor terrace. The Arbor Row redevelopment plan totals 2.6 million square feet of new mixed-use development within a half-mile of the future Tysons Central Metrorail Station. It will encompass 1.1 million square feet of office space, three residential buildings with as many as 1,180 units, a 250-key hotel, roughly 60,000 square feet of ground floor retail, 4,000 parking spaces and 4.4 acres of park space. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors unanimously supported the massive development in November and construction is expected to begin in 2014.
