Design Collective Wins National Design Award for Student Housing - Baltimore, MD

Design Collective was recognized with a 2014 Innovator Award for “Best On-Campus Architecture/Design” by Student Housing Business Magazine for the design of the new Living-Learning Community on the Livingston campus of Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey. The project was selected from over 110 nominees vying for the distinction. The award was presented during the 6^th annual InterFace Student Housing Conference in Austin, Texas. The Living-Learning Community at Rutgers created a new hub for student life and a dynamic edge for the campus with a 648,000 square foot mixed-use complex comprised of residential, retail and amenity spaces for 1,500 students. The buildings feature spacious study lounges and flexible tiered classrooms that convert into movie theatres at night, a campus diner, and a sustainably landscaped plaza that connects the campus and the surrounding neighborhood.
