Lou Ghitman Retiring Following 32 Years at Design Collective

As we begin to reflect on 2023 and another successful trip around the sun at Design Collective, we want to take this opportunity to thank Lou Ghitman for 32 amazing years of service to the firm, as he prepares to retire at the end of the year. 

For those that know Lou, or have had the pleasure of working with him, you know what a driving force he has been within our firm, our industry, and our greater community. During Lou’s tenure at Design Collective, he has worked with, managed, and mentored a diverse design studio of architects and designers to address the constantly evolving challenges facing the built environment. His influence can be seen in a generation of innovative corporate workplace environments, college and university campuses, civic projects and mixed-use developments that have profoundly impacted the way people live, learn, work, and play. Together, with our colleagues in our Interior Design Studio, Lou has delivered several award-winning projects for our esteemed clients, including Johns Hopkins University, Cushman & Wakefield, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, and many more. 

All of us at Design Collective deeply appreciate Lou’s unwavering commitment, leadership, and friendship over the many years. Lou has inspired us all as creative professionals, and more importantly as human beings. He has led by example, doing extensive volunteer work, and helping others whenever he could - from family and friends to clients and community. 

We wish Lou the very best as he embarks on his next adventures in retirement and in spending more time with his family and friends, as well as traveling and volunteering. We are happy to share that we will stay connected with Lou and that he is always just a call away if we ever need his trusted wisdom in the future.
